Auto is the default and picks a quick answer, deeper reasoning or a Workspace Agent for you. Choose Workspace Agent 1.0 for lighter everyday tasks, 2.0 for complex multi-step work in the editors, Code agent for multi-file apps, Browser operator for a live page and Desktop co-pilot for a connected PC. Reasoning effort runs from Min to Max. Raise it when a task is ambiguous or costly to get wrong, and still check the evidence yourself.
Context comes from the composer plus menu, where skills, brand kits and connectors attach as chips. When an editor is open, the editing chip shows which file the next message will change.
