Add a custom MCP connector safely

Open the custom MCP form
Go to Settings, Connectors, then Add a custom MCP server and choose hosted HTTPS.
Add the name and HTTPS endpoint
Enter a clear server name and its hosted MCP URL; local commands and filesystem paths belong in a desktop MCP client.
Verify and limit access
Confirm connection status, inspect available capabilities, and test with non-sensitive data first.
Attach it to one chat
Use the composer plus menu, choose Connectors, select the MCP server, and confirm its connector chip.

Before opening Settings, confirm with the owner of the support-ticketing MCP server and your IT lead: who runs it, its HTTPS endpoint, how it authenticates, which tools it exposes, what it does with data you send, and whether your organisation allows custom MCP.
Open the custom MCP form
Go to Settings, Connectors, then Add a custom MCP server and choose hosted HTTPS.
Click your avatar at the bottom-left, open Settings, choose Connectors, then click Add a custom MCP server and choose Hosted HTTPS.
Add the name and HTTPS endpoint
Enter a clear server name and its hosted MCP URL; local commands and filesystem paths belong in a desktop MCP client.
In the form, enter the name Warehouse Inventory (read-only) and the endpoint https://mcp.acme-warehousing.example/mcp, then add the server. Do not paste a local command or a folder path from a desktop setup guide.
Verify and limit access
Confirm connection status, inspect available capabilities, and test with non-sensitive data first.
Back in Settings, Connectors, open the new payroll MCP entry and check its connection status and the tools it exposes. Then in a fresh chat attach it and ask: Using only the test employee record, tell me which tools you would call to look up a leave balance. Do not call any that write.
Attach it to one chat
Use the composer plus menu, choose Connectors, select the MCP server, and confirm its connector chip.
In the composer click +, open the Connectors tab, select the Finance ERP server and confirm its chip, then ask: Pull the open purchase orders over 20,000 dollars raised this month and summarise them by supplier.
